Getting Money: A Poem About Wealth That Can't Be Taken Away
A journey long, not for the faint,
Hamilton waits
Who is rich, Alex?
One who invests
In
Self
In
Small habits
In
Smart circles
In
Sharpened skills
In
Sagacious reads
In
Securities
Like
Trust and truth
Faith and fun
Wonder and wisdom
Things that can’t be taken away
Like money
That we chase just to leave
We gain just to give
We strive just to die
Wealth is the ability to double your gifts
Wealth is within; money simply follows
Flows from the seed, the soil, the sun and the rain
From the growth and the toil and the risk and the pain
The legacy I leave is grit and fruit
Practice then eat
And enjoy
