Hungry: A Poem Written as a Recipe for Everything Worth Having

stay hungry…

Mostly, for love

I like sweet things.

Last time, though, something was off.

Actually, I haven’t been able to get it quite right just yet…

Let’s tweak the recipe.

2 cups self-discovery
2 cups integrity
4 tests of perseverance
1 tablespoon of adventure
3 tablespoons of a celebratory nature
1 cup of ambition equal parts talent and resources
1/2 cup of teamwork — add more to balance the scale

Pour passion to taste — I prefer a lot

Preheat the oven — set to endless flame
Mix in a blow greased with Jesus all over
Stir with reasonable sacrifice, fold until healthy communication is smooth, and sprinkle in a solid support system

Bake forever

Can you smell the aroma that steeps this house?

A comfort that reaches into the soul from an oven filled

I could taste it through the tempered glass

A sacred love made between intentional hands

A mix made just right

Perfection remains unattainable but truth, depth, hope, and comfort are within reach

Within sight, in my nose, on my lips, of my dreams

I’m full
